Infrared

A gentler heat, aimed at the body, not the room.

SAWO's infrared rooms warm the body directly with fiber-coated far-infrared panels, running 55 to 70°C from a standard 230-volt socket — the plug-and-play choice for condos and apartments.

Honest framing

Not a Finnish sauna — and not trying to be.

We describe infrared by its real physical characteristics: radiant panels, a lower running temperature, a faster warm-up, and a standard socket. For many homes and condominiums, that is exactly enough.

The two ready-made rooms

Sized for one, or for two.

Both ship complete and plug into a standard socket — no dedicated circuit, no floor drain, no electrician's upgrade.

How infrared differs

Radiant heat, aimed at the body.

A traditional Finnish sauna heats the room and the air in it. Infrared panels emit far-infrared radiation directly at the body, so the room around you barely changes temperature.

  • 55–70°C

SAWO's own stated range for its infrared line — lower than a traditional Finnish sauna, and the figure we use rather than a lower generic estimate.

  • Low humidity

A dry heat — no water thrown on stones, no steam cloud.

  • 10–20 minute warm-up

Far faster than bringing a stone Finnish sauna up to heat.

  • 15–25 minute sessions

A gentler, steadier session than a hot Finnish sauna's shorter, more intense bursts.

  • 230V, plug-and-play

A standard household socket, no dedicated circuit and no floor drain — the differentiator for condos and apartments.

Materials

Cedar, with an aspen backrest.

Both ready-made rooms are cedar. The Infrared Backrest also comes in aspen. SAWO's infrared line does not offer a hemlock option.

Who it suits

A gentler, more frequent ritual.

Condos, apartments, and ensuite bathrooms on a standard socket. First-time sauna users who want a lower, steadier heat before working up to a traditional Finnish room. Anyone wanting the smallest complete room in SAWO's range.

The panels

Fiber-coated far-infrared emitters.

The same panel technology built into both ready-made rooms, sold single, double, or triple for a custom build or a replacement.

The backrest

A portable warmth, on any bench.

The Infrared Backrest straps to any chair or bench, in cedar or aspen. If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, consult your doctor before use.

The controls

Temperature, session, light, and fan.

One panel sets the room — built in, or a power controller paired with a separate wall interface — and can be networked into home automation.

What we say, and what we do not

A gentler ritual, described plainly.

Infrared warms the body directly, offers a gentler and longer session than a hot Finnish sauna, and installs in minutes on a standard socket. That is the full extent of what we state about it — a physical description, not a medical one. If you are pregnant or have a medical condition, consult your doctor before use.

Also a room type

Infrared lives in the sauna-rooms range too.

SAWO builds infrared as one of its four room types, alongside classic, glass-front, and compact rooms.
