Questions

Real questions, answered plainly.

What people actually ask before a sauna project in Thailand — who we are, where we work, and what a project involves.

Is Asian Saunastore experienced, and who should I contact?

Asian Saunastore is the authorized SAWO distributor in Thailand. Although the brand is recent, its founding team has over fifteen years of experience building custom saunas across Thailand for private and commercial clients, and it is backed by SAWO — a Finnish manufacturer with more than thirty years of craft and installations in over ninety countries. They design, supply, and install, offer showroom visits, and reply within one business day via WhatsApp, phone, or email.

Do you install saunas in Phuket, Samui, Bangkok, and Hua Hin?

Yes. We design, supply, and install across Thailand — Phuket, Samui, Bangkok, Hua Hin, and beyond — with our Pattaya base keeping service within reach.

What is the difference between a sauna, a steam room, and an infrared room?

A traditional Finnish sauna heats dry air to around ninety degrees Celsius, with löyly — steam raised from water on hot stones — at its center. A steam room holds a warmer, saturated cloud at a gentler temperature, felt on the skin rather than as dry heat. Infrared uses radiant panels that warm the body directly at 55 to 70°C, so the room around you barely changes temperature; SAWO's infrared rooms warm up in 10 to 20 minutes and run from a standard 230-volt socket. Each suits a different site and habit — we help you choose during the consultation.

What does a home sauna project in Thailand involve?

Five steady steps: a conversation about your site and habits, a dimensioned design with an equipment specification, the supply of genuine SAWO equipment, installation and commissioning by our own team, and the first löyly — after which we stay reachable for service. The same team stays on your project throughout.

Can a sauna work as an outdoor installation in a tropical climate?

Yes, with the engineering planned for it. Humid air, salt near the coast, and sharp drying under air-conditioning all work a room harder than a cold climate does, so ventilation, vapor control, and timber choice are decided before the first panel is fitted, not adjusted afterward. Our planning guide covers the detail — the short version is that the tropics ask more of a sauna, and we plan for that from the first sketch.

Can I add a cold plunge or contrast therapy alongside my sauna?

Yes. Pairing heat with cold is a fast-growing ritual in Thailand's wellness scene, and we design saunas sited close to a plunge pool, chilled tub, or outdoor shower, so the cold half of the ritual is a single step, not a separate errand. The pairing is associated with feeling clear-headed and calm afterward, not a proven medical treatment, and that is how we describe it.

How long does a sauna project take, from consultation to first löyly?

It depends on the room's size, the site's readiness, and whether the sauna is part of a larger build — a compact indoor cabin moves faster than a bespoke outdoor installation tied to villa construction. We give you a precise schedule once we have seen your site; ask during the consultation.

Can I visit a showroom before deciding?

Yes. We welcome showroom visits so you can feel the löyly, the timber, and the heater in person before committing to a design. Reserve a visit through the consultation below.

What warranty comes with a SAWO sauna?

As the authorized SAWO distributor in Thailand, we supply genuine SAWO equipment backed by SAWO's manufacturer warranty. SAWO does not publish a fixed warranty term, so we confirm the exact coverage for your equipment during the design conversation.

What timber options are available for a sauna in Thailand's climate?

SAWO builds its rooms in cedar, aspen, and hemlock. Cedar is aromatic and naturally durable, aspen is pale and gentle to the touch, and hemlock is even-grained and calm — and in Thailand's humidity and salt air, species choice and detailing matter more than in a cold climate. We specify the right timber for your site during design.

How do you size the right heater for a room?

SAWO builds more than one hundred heater models. SAWO's heaters run from 2.3 to 24 kilowatts for the home, with the commercial Taurus series reaching 36 kilowatts. Heater output is matched to your room's volume, ceiling height, glass area, and insulation — not guessed — and we calculate the right size as part of the design.
